Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!

Well, I know I have dropped off the planet again, or at least that's what it seems like since The Angel Company closed its doors in August. I guess you could say I went into "stamping shock" or "stamping mourning" when that happened. I wasn't surprised by the move, but I was very disappointed since the new catty had just come out in June and I was looking forward to getting several of the new stamp sets especially from some of the new designers that had been hired. The sad news is the company is gone, but the good news is that the products have been bought and consumers will be able to purchase The Angel Company stamps again through a new online retail company opening up in January. I will be sure to post more information when it is up and ready to take orders. Like you, I will be anxious to purchase the products that I love so much. The new company will also carry other new and exciting items as well.

Two New Cards w/Maggie Cardstock

Check out these awesome stamps, two of my new favorite sets that I got. I received the Apple of My Eye Stamp Set (R-2056)at seminar in June. It is a Mabelle RO design. I just love it!!! The little bear is just so cute and I love apple pie! I live in Washington and we are the apple state, so this is the perfect stamp set for anyone living in Washington or anyone who loves bears and apples! There are some great sayings including this thank-you and also one for feeling better soon. Very versatile! I also used the Labels 4 Nestibilities Die (K-302, the largest die in the set, then cut out the background paper you see under the bear. I haven't used my nestibilities much yet, but they add so much to your cards and I'm beginning to really love using mine. We carry the BigKick Machine (K-335) that you can use with such a variety of templates and cutting dies. We carry a good selection to choose from. It is a must have tool! If you place a $100.00 order (before shipping and taxes), you can order this as a 40% off hostess benefit. What a deal! The Anchor to My Soul Stamp Set (T-3252)is just beautiful. It is a great relaxing summer set that reminds me of visiting my in-laws on Lopez Island in the San Juans. I don't get to see them often enough, but when I do, its wonderful. Being by the water and getting out on the ocean in a sailboat, well, its just so relaxing. If you've never gotten to see whales coming up around your boat, then your missing out. It's truly spectacular. This stamp set includes some Bible verses that are inspiring and speak to the heart. This is one I highly recommend for your stamping collection. I used my new copic markers and my x-press paper that I anxiously waited for. My order came in on Thursday - yippee!!!!! When the mailman pulled into the driveway, I was filled with joy! I'm still missing 7 of my copics, but I still received several of them, enough to have fun playing and using them to make the cards you see here. Enjoy!!!

I got a pleasant surprise today in the mailbox. My Scor-Buddy had finally arrived. It had been on back-order at The Angel Company and they finally are in again. I know why they are such an "in demand" product. They are small, portable and great to use for cardmaking. I used it tonight while coming up with this new card design. I promised myself that I was going to make an effort to use all the new stamp sets I got from seminar, so here is a card from the Konnichiwa Stamp Set. I colored it first with my aqua crayons, but didn't quite like the colors, so used copics to make another girl and pop-dotted her on top of the other girl. It gives her a three dimensional look. I paper-pieced the umbrella using the Maggie paper pack. I really like this set and will probably do something with it for a card class.

This stamp set is so much fun to play with. I finally got a handle on my craft room the other night. I probably shouldn't have drank a Dr. Pepper (40 grams of sugar), but it led me to cleaning my entire craft room. I just can't drink anything with sugar or caffeine after a certain hour in the day or its a sure bet I'll be up most of the night. It just revs me up and I won't sleep. Not a good thing for me unless I need to do some deep cleaning like I did the other night. I don't normally drink soda, so I'm not sure what got into me the other night!!! At any rate, I will stop rambling to tell you about my cards.

I gotta say, I feel they turned out pretty good. I haven't had much time to stamp since coming back from seminar, so I feel they turned out really well. I must say, I really am liking the Emma paper collection. The colors are beautiful and I love the striped papers that come with it. The Happy Leaf stamp set is so easy to use. If you are a busy person, this set is for you. It is fun to use and doesn't take alot of time to make quality looking cards that your friends and family are going to love. Patience is a Virtue!

Okay, so I've been patiently waiting for several weeks now for my TAC delivery of new stamp sets. Each day I peer out my front window for the UPS man and to no avail. I contacted TAC for the second time and found out that today is THE DAY! Oh I hope so!!! On Saturday, I did receive my box of catties and that was exciting, but today I should receive my box of new stamp sets and my scor-buddy. Since TAC made a move to Linsborg, KS and the new catty has been out only a short time, shipping is just a little bit slower than usual. I am not very patient when it comes to my stamping, but finally, today is the day I will receive that box that I have soooo patiently waited for. Didn't our Mom's teach us that patience is a virture? All good things come with patience? One quote I found states that "Patience is a necessity for a happy existence and that is why the phrase is so often used". I also found that Thomas Jefferson once wisely stated, "Nothing gives one person so much advantage over another as to remain always cool and unruffled under all circumstances." So I guess being patient is a good thing, something to build your moral being and make you a better person. When it comes to waiting for my stamps and stamping supplies though, I must say my patience gets tested and I find myself running out of patience!!! Well, as I write this, I will refrain from becoming impatient and work on knowing that all good things come to those who wait! I quietly sit here sipping my coffee while I wait patiently for that UPS truck to pull up and then let out a little cheer of joy when my new TAC stamps finally arrive. Will it be worth the wait? UPDATE: Got home from my physical therapy this afternoon and my box was waiting for me. My stamps were here finally! Yippee!!!!! My Scor-Buddy is still on back-order, but that's okay, I have my new stamps. I'm a happy camper for now. Now off to cut them out so I can start to make some new cards. I will post them as soon as I get them done. I signed up to do a couple of TAC virtual swaps and a snail mail swap, so I better get busy! Oh and for those of you in the hot part of the country, its in the upper 60's here and rainy. It's actually on the cold side. I'm kinda enjoying it!!! Sorry to rub it in, but I couldn't help it!!!!

My Angel Swap the Last Night at Seminar

Here are two picture that show the picture frame that I made for our Angel Swap the final night at seminar in Wichita, KS and the beautiful coasters I received. The coasters were made by Paula Kay Bourland (she is one of the design team members for TAC) They are beautiful. I thought my picture frame came out quite good too! I used my favorite TAC paper called Cha Cha (V-832 $4.95 with the coordinating Cha Cha cardstock (B-310 $6.50) and one of my favorite stamp sets called Blossoms & Blessings (T-3371 $21.95 Set of 8. I used copic markers to color the flower and leaves and finished off the frame with some bling from our gem collections (D-309 Clear & Pearl Approx. 278 pieces @ $5.50). The Angel Company Seminar Review

I am so excited to be back from The Angel Company Seminar feeling refreshed and renewed – I feel like I have my creative juices back again. I’m really pumped to get stamping again and can’t wait to start experimenting with my copic markers. I took the beginning Copic Certification Class with Lori _________ who was just an incredible teacher. I learned so much about how to use my copic markers and can’t wait to order more now that TAC sells them individually. That was one of the most exciting things for me with the new catty.

Happily Grateful Stamp Set

Boy, I need to work on my photography, but here is an attempt at taking a picture of another card I made using one of the sets I got prior to seminar. This set can be found in the new catty on page 59. I love this set of 8 stamps. The "Friend" word stamp is from the Thinking Sweet Thoughts level C Hostess Set. The Happily Grateful Stamp Set can be found at my website where you can order it by going to the nature stamps section to find it. The set comes with a beautiful butterfly, two sayings, and some flowers. I will try to make a card using the butterfly and share that sample soon.

Today is hot, hot, hot in Spokane, WA. I am glad that we are finally getting the warm weather without all the rain. Its nice to see the summer sun. I have been Vitamin D deficient all winter and so I plan on soaking up as much Vitamin D as possible in the next few weeks. :) Thanks for checking out my card samples. I'd love to hear your comments. How is exciting is that? I finally got my box of catty's yesterday and haven't put my copy down yet. I love the new cover and all of the new products that are in it. I am so glad that The Angel Company has stuck to its roots with stamping. The new stamp sets are fabulous. I would love to share a new catty with you if you are interested. I haven't posted for a long while. I apologize for that if you are checking out my blog. Being a teacher has consumed me this year, to say the least. It has been more than a full time job, it has been my life. I love what I do with students, but it seems to be all I do. Now that spring is reallly here, I hope to catch my breath and maybe be able to catch up and slow down a bit. A few weekends ago, I had my first TAC show in awhile. I got to go to beautiful Hope, Idaho and visit with some delightful women there who were having a scrapping get-together. I must say, they must own just about everything you could imagine a scrapper owning. They didn't have, however, alot of TAC stamps! That is where I came in handy. They had lost their representative who had quit, so I was more than willing to share this wonderful company with them. I had them make two cards and a 6 x 6 scrapbook page. I will download the examples when I get home (I'm typing this at a different location). The wonderful lady, Jeannie, who contacted me to come is planning to join TAC as a new rep for their area. That was exciting to me. I am so glad to have her as part of my team. She is very creative and lots of fun. It was a wonderful day and I can't wait to see what they create with all of their new stamps. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. A few cards I did for seminar.....

Here are a few cards I did for seminar. I'm presently in bed with a fractured tooth having major pain radiate from my right jaw, so to make me feel better, I thought I'd share some of my art work with you. I know, makes no sense, but it keeps my mind off the pain. I also just took some great pain killers and expect to be sleeping any moment now too, soooooo........

I love the two stamp sets in the new Inspiration Catalog on page 17, T-3038 (set of 8) called artsy owls for $21.95 and the what a hoot set T-3043 (set of 12) for $17.95. I just thought these were the cutest owls around! My cards used both of these stamp sets. The new catty also features another new set on pg. 16 called be square set T-3165 (set of8) for $12.95. I was so excited when I received this as a freebie at seminar this year. I can't wait to use it. As soon as I do, I will post a card for you to see.

Check out the black and white paper I used. Isn't that cool??? You can get it for free just by a click of the finger. It is a free downloadable paper from The Angel Company. Just go to the section on the main page of the website that says downloads and download on whatever colored paper you'd like. I like to use white, but at seminar, I saw it run off on many other colors too.

Back in Spokane and Catty's are In!!!!

I just got home less than an hour ago and got to admit, I slept on the planes the whole way home! My only hope is that I didn't snore or drool too much on anyone who had to sit around me! The 50's Sock Hop last night was fun to attend. The big surprise at the end was that every TAC Angel got a special exclusive stamp set at the end of the dance for attending! It has stamps in it related to the 50's theme including a cute girl in a poodle skirt, a poodle, saddle shoes, etc. How cute is that? I can't wait to create with it!

Yesterday us angels attended some fantastic workshops that gave us some great ideas on hostess gifts, recruiting, and some cool ideas for projects. We also had the chance to go to the open stamp room where TAC had new stamp sets set out for us to stamp as many as we wanted on cardstock to bring back to use to make cards and scrapbook pages. I can't wait to use them and plan to send some to my downline! If you are interested in joining TAC let me know. I would love to send you some in your welcome packet.

I was really surprised to find out that I won one of the display boards again this year. On my display board were mainly Christmas cards and several had been submitted for last years catty and had made it in the catty. Others were submitted into monthly competitions. I will post them when I get pictures taken. In the meantime, check out the pics I have posted to share. It was so much fun and, if your an angel that couldn't make it, we sure missed you! Start planning for next year. Next year will mark the start of something fresh and new with the 1st year under the new and improved career plan that TAC rolling out starting in Jan. '10. Seminar 2009

It's been a long time since I've posted, so thought I'd get a post out to all of you to update you on what I've been doing. I'm getting excited about seminar. It's in less than 18 days and I still haven't started my swaps. I have a little over a week left of school left to teach. It's countdown time!!!! I'm finishing with teaching 9th grade Human Sexuality, boy what was I thinking!!!!! Well, it has been interesting to say the least. There are so many myths out there today that these kids believe. My favorite - that sneezing are mini orgasms. If that is the case, them I'm starting a new abstinence program by selling pepper shakers to all. Where do they get their information?!? Anyway, not much longer and I'm done. Friday starts finals and then next Wednesday is the last day. We still don't know what we teach next year, but hopefully we find out in the next day or two. Talk about coming down to the wire! I took an over night trip to Enumclaw, WA in my camper with my son Brent to a wedding reception for my step- neice and her new husband. It was fun, but a long trip for such a short time. It was beautiful. Lots of people, dancing, food, and spirits. The royal porta-potties were pretty impressive too! Today, a speaker is at Mead High School speaking about his time during the Holacaust. Wow, what an experience that we are all so lucky not to have experienced. Let us all remember the millions who lost their lives in such a terrible event. What a wonderful man with such an important story to tell. Well, I will post some cards that I recently made. Snow, Snow, Snow, and Yes, More Snow...................

Spokane has been dumped on by the winter snow. My husband got on top of the garage to shovel it and actually ended up breaking the shovel the snow was so heavy and thick. We have gotten a record breaking amount of snow this year with over 61" so far and more coming down as I write this. School has been canceled today for the whole city due to road conditions and I'm not sure what tomorrow will bring. I just can't get over how much snow we've gotten this year. I've managed to be able to drive in it for the most part with only one nose dive into a snow bank thus far. I had to be pushed out, but luckily no damage! Our snow blower has been a valuable piece of equipment this year. When Mike went to buy a new shovel, he couldn't find one anywhere. Go figure!!!!!!! Hope you are all staying warm and safe! Beth :)

Okay, it has been quite awhile since I've posted. I've been swallowed up by my classroom and teaching all my wonderful students this fall. I'm currently teaching Child Development/Parenting and Family Health. The Family Health classes have 30 wonderful freshman (yes, that is 9th graders) and I have 4 periods in a row to teach. I am keeping very busy. By the end of the day, I am checking myself to see if I'm still standing and speaking in complete, recognizable sentences. Don't get me wrong, I am really enjoying the year, but it really takes alot of ENERGY to teach this age group and I'm no spring chicken anymore. It really puts the meaning into the word HEALTH if you know what I mean!!! Any way, I am getting a chance to get away this coming weekend. I'm actually going to play hookie tomorrow because I got a sub (bless them) to come in to teach tomorrow. I fly out tonight (Thursday) at 6:40 p.m. to be exact and will get away from it all to attend the Creative Keepsakes Convention Friday and Saturday all day long. I have signed up to take tons and I mean tons of really cool classes. I'm going to learn flower techniques, flocking techniques, creative ways to use chipboard, and will get to make a fun chic holiday purse with gift cards. How exciting is that?????? I am ready to go and have some fun and relax with friends. I will post pictures of my projects when I return. Okay, I haven't posted in a few days. I have to admit that I am still working on cleaning up my craft room. I'm getting there, but its not quite there yet. I bought a new little shelf and got it put together today, so am getting magazines and books loaded onto it. I'm reorganizing stamps and cleaning ones that I have left dirty from previous stamping nights. I don't have any new pics to share yet, but I do have another blurry one of more swaps I received at seminar. I just loved these. I know they are a bit hard to see, blame the photographer again! This past week I went to the doctor because my right wrist has been hurting for a good month or so. I thought maybe I had just strained it somehow and thought maybe the pain would just go away, but it has persisted. I woke up on Monday and my wrist started popping, so off to the doc I went. Well, of course I got told what I figured I'd get told - I have tendinitis - basically I'm getting older! Its amazing how quickly my parts are falling apart the closer to the big 5-0 I get!!!! Well, I got a good med for it and hopefully it will heal up and I'll be good as new. It won't stop me from stamping tonight. I plan on getting some done this evening so this weekend I will have something new to share with you. Well until then .......have a great weekend!!!!!

Swap Cards

Just a few of my swaps received and a card I made (the oriental card). I really loved each and everyone of these. I know they are hard to see, blame that on the photographer (that would be me of course!)

Okay, I've been home from my long trip across country and haven't started to stamp yet. I took the trip to rest from teaching all year, but after returning home from the trip I think I needed a rest from traveling so much. Go figure! Anyway, I don't know how I've let a week get past me, but I have. I am getting motivated again (finally) and have th urge to clean my stamp room (now I just need to actually move) and get it organized again. I got so many new things at seminar and new ideas to work on, I think I'm a bit overwhelmed and not sure where to start. I think since I've just gotten home from a trip I should maybe do some scrapping. I haven't done that much, so I am going to have to break out the scrapbooks and work on putting together a few books of the trip. My picture taking ability isn't exactly the greatest, but I did get some that are worthy of being put on scrap pages and I bought quite a few post cards too. I thought maybe I could do something cool with them as well. Anyone have any good ideas for them???? I am trying to muster up the willpower to hold an open house for the new catty for TAC. I say that every year and then chicken out. I love our products and stamps and this year with the new kits, wow, I should have no excuse for cool ideas to share with my customers. I just think I sometimes need a boost of self-confidence. Its funny how, as a teacher, I try to inspire and motivate students on a daily basis, but when it comes to myself, I tend to not follow my own medicine. I come across as being very self assured, but at times, its hard for me to take that leap, so to speak. Anyway, some of you out there might know what I'm talking about, I tend to just be too hard on myself at times. So, now that I have that out of my system, I think I will just get motivated and clean my downstairs craft room, get everything organized and get started. Once I start I know I'll get inspired and lose all track of time......isn't that the way it always seems to go.....well, I'm sharing a picture of some trades I got in the mail and a card I made with one of my favorite all time stamp sets from The Angel Company called thearts T-2408 $15.95 (set of 10 stamps) located on page 40 of the new catty. I have made several different cards with this set. We now have a new Asian set called asianart T-2983 $19.95 (set of 10) on page 41 of the catty. Trades at Seminar

I had misplaced this picture, but finally found it. These are pictures of a few of the card fronts that I made as trades for seminar. I love these two stamp sets by TAC. I had a lot of fun making them too. The fish card I made for Father's Day for my Dad and Father-In-Law using the following TAC products:
T-1091 fishstory (set of 5) $10.95
V-925 Just Like Dad 8x8 Wing It Collection Paper Pad (36 sheets) $6.95
I used DCWV Cardstock, shimmer chalks, and antique copper hardware put on with my Crop-A-Dile. All products sold by The Angel Company. I used finger sponges (I bought from Michaels) to blend the colors together to color the fish and the water. It's hard to tell from the picture, but I thought the colors came out great. They weren't hard to color, but looked like I had spent a lot more time on them than what I did. I stamped the fish on our premium white cardstock V-290 and then after coloring it, I used my distressing tool on it and then inked the distressed edges with my palette ink. I love the look of the torn paper, it gives it that rustic look! TAC sells a Cutting Tool Set F-303 for $9.95. I love this tool set.

The other two cards are done with the following products:

I first stamped my flower on white glossy cardstock V-216. I used my glitter gel pens to color the flowers and then used Stickles to add extra sparkle. I love glitter and sparkle. On some of the cards I used hardware and my Crop-A-Dile tool. I love the larger eyelets. I had fun making these cards. No two were alike.

Due to the rising costs that vendors are charging The Angel Company, we are being charged more for vendor products which, unfortunately, must be passed 0n to the consumer. Not wanting to do this by raising prices, The Angel Company had to take a look at our hostess plan and came up with, what I feel, is a pretty good compromise. What they did do is take away the one 1/2 priced item just for booking a show in order to keep the 1/2 priced item where you can choose anything from the catalog for the consumer. If we had kept the 2 - 1/2 priced items, then customers would have been limited in choosing only TAC stamps or paper collections/kits. This would have meant that customers could not have used the 1/2 priced item for the higher end items such as the Score-Pal or Bind-It-All. I usually get customers that want some of these pricier items as their 50% off item(s). As a consultant I will still come up with some type of creative way to offer special incentives for my customers when they book a FunShop with me. In order to receive your 1/2 priced item, your sales will need to be as stated below.

• $100-249.99 hostesses may select 1 half price item from any item in our current catalogue.

• $250-499.99 hostesses may select 2 half price items from any items in our current catalogue.

Hello from the Good "Ole MidWest

I just had one of the best 4Th of July's - I spent it with family in Paullina, Iowa celebrating its Quasquicentennial Celebration (125 years) - Wow, what a mouthful!!! For a small town there were a lot of people there to celebrate. Friends and family came from all over to celebrate this once in a lifetime event! I traveled with my parents and two sons all the way from Dallas, TX to get there. What a trip - we were sardined into our car. I had the most luggage since I still had all of my stuff from The Angel Company Seminar with me. I enjoyed the small town feel of being in Paullina - something that I never grew up feeling. Everyone knows everyone there and you can bet that you're going to run into someone around just about every corner that your probably related to. We kept busy by going to a tractor parade, a Little Miss and Mr. Pageant, a town parade, a quilt show, fun park activities, food vendors, history pageant of the town, the fire works celebration, old time car show, civil war memoriablia diplays and a street dance. There was even more planned events, but too many for us to attend. My cousin and his wife were co-chairs of the committee that oversaw the entire event. I got to chill out with them for a short time in the wee hours of the morning after the street dance last night and boy, were they tired, but what a great job they did to make it a wonderful event for everyone to remember. Most people who attended high school in Paullina had some sort of mini class reunion including my Dad. He is getting older and it was so great to see him perk up and really enjoy seeing his old classmates and friends. I, myself, have four cousins and only one aunt and uncle who I wish I kept in touch with more. It was absolutely wonderful to see them. They were all busy attending reunions and taking their children to several of the planned events in town. We grabbedn pieces of time here and there to visit with each other and we got to visit with everyone at one time or the other. I wish we had had more time, but we'll just have to go back in a few years for the next big family reunion. Well, check out a few of my pics - I've included a few of some wonderful quilts I saw at the quilt show (they were quilted by my Aunt Corrine) and a few of the parade (the Building for the Future float belongs to my cousin Mike). What fun!!! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday! On the 4th we must have sung Happy Birthday to just about everything in Paullina including the library there. That was a first for me. LOL! Only in Paullina, Iowa! Well, Happy Birthday to the United States of America - what a wonderful place we live!!!! God Bless America and God Bless U!

Here I am in all my glory with my door prize that I won at one of the TAC workshops that Mischelle, owner and CEO of The Angel Company was teaching. She actually drew my name and I won ribbon and a SWIC paper pack. I was so thrilled to win something! In the above picture you will see my display board that I also was drawn for. 2008 TAC Seminar

All I can say is WOW!!!!! I had such a wonderful time at seminar this year. I must say it seemed that it went way too fast, but boy, what fun we had! I got to stay with Ginger Serafin, who recently promoted to an Executive Manager for the company. She also received The Horizon Award. She is so awesome. My upline Jackie Baugrud was the 2nd top seller overall in the company and one of my other fellow Cherubs that I hung out with, Diana, was honored with being one of the top recruiters for the year. I was definitely hanging around with the best of the best. I will say that it was a nice surprise that Mischelle Smith, owner and CEO of TAC, honored all angels who promoted this year and since I promoted to Team Leader, I had the honor of walking across the stage to introduce myself and received an angel pin that says "achiever" on it. This was something new this year and I thought it was a nice touch to the awards evening. Jackie also recognized me at our Cherub team meeting with a t-shirt with my name and team leader on it. It really made me feel special!!!!! This year was so much fun and very relaxing. I loved the hotel we stayed at - very classy - the Hyatt in Wichita, KS. I loved the way we had classes that were taught by TAC staff and where we received prepared kits to work on in each session. I didn't mind bringing my own supplies with me - they were minimal at that. The new kits are great and will be top sellers for sure. What I loved about them is that they are very versatile and you can make them your own. The new paper lines coordinate with them, so you have many options when designing with them. The embellishment choices are great with the addition of our new embellishment jars. Each jar contains an assortment of flowers and buttons with approximately 100 pieces total in them for $10.95 - what a deal!!!! We received level A, B and C stamp sets and some angels received a few of the new GWP's too. I was lucky enough to win a door prize which was one of the new Soar With It Collections and the coordinating ribbon. I was also fortunate enough to have been chosen to receive one of the display boards in the lobby. I will post the card pictures when I return home from my trip to Texas - that's right - I'm in Texas visiting family right now. So, for now, I will say, see ya'll later!!!!!! Beth :)

May is Finally Here!!! Yippee!!!!!!

WARM WEATHER IS FINALLY HERE.............................

I don't know about you, but I have been anxiously awaiting this month because I'm hoping it means warmer weather just might be finely here - hopefully to stick around for awhile We are still in the 50's, but I'll take that! It sure beats the snow. I usually don't mind the snow, but I must say, this year I had more than my fill of snow. I also had a more than a few close calls with driving on slick, icy mountain roads. Today they sky was blue, it was 54 degrees and just beautiful out. Tomorrow they are predicting even warmer weather - into the 60's - yippee!!!!!! Now I guess that means I need to begin my diet so I can squeeze back into my shorts and tank tops. I plan on traveling to Texas in a month - after going to The Angel Company Seminar - that's right, I'm going to seminar (another yipeeeeee!!!!!). Another reason to slim down and get back into some of my summer clothes. I'll tell you more about all my exciting plans in later updates, but for now, I want to share what I've been up to with my FunShops.......

Well, it has been awhile since I have shared any card creations of mine, so I thought I would share one of my favorite TAC sets with you. Last week, I did a FunShop for some gals and had a blast. It was on a Friday night and boy did these gals know how to have fun! I planned three projects for them to do. The first was a card where I got the idea from another angel from one of my yahoo groups (I will give credit to her when I locate her name) to use thearts stamp set and the coluzzle template. I used all TAC products to complete the cards. I'm one of those creative consultants who prefers to come up with a few ideas which allows guests to be creative when they make their own cards. They each go home with a little bit of their own version of my card(s). I think I do this because in the past I have been to shows where consultants made all the guests use the exact same papers, inks, ribbons, etc. and everyone leaves with the exact same looking card. I like each guest to put a little bit of their own personality into their creation. That way they did their own thing. I find people seem to appreciate this at the shows. Anyway, everyone seemed to enjoy making this card. We used watercolor pencils with blender pens to color the stamped images. Remember a little bit of pencil goes a long way. You just outline the inside of your image and then take your blender pen, using circular motions,work your color towards the center of your image. It really leaves gives your image a nice look!!!

The second project, because it really wasn't a card, was just a copy of something we made at seminar last year, a mini brag book to carry in your purse. It holds special pics you might want to show off of your family, grandchildren, children, boyfriend, hubby, etc. -- you get the idea!!!!! I will post directions and supplies later. Sorry I don't have a picture of it opened, but there are about 3-4 pages inside. I'll get my supplies out and add a new pic with all the supplies you need in another post so you can see what you need. The third project was a black and white card that I will also share on my next post. It was very simple, but cute!!!! Sometimes I think simple is good. I don't know about you, but I have a very busy life as a high school teacher, so the simpler sometimes, the better!!!!!!

Well, now that I finally figured out our new computer and how to download my camera's pictures on it, I hope to post more on my blog site. Four Day Weekend

Well, we had a whole week off in January for snow days. Now we have a four day weekend. I celebrated my birthday on Friday, so having this weekend has been really nice. I am looking out the window as I type this and it is cold and we still have lots and lots of snow. Is there no end to this? It is overcast and very cold out. We got a few inches of snow on Friday and now nothing is melting away. At least I can get out of the house this time to go do some fun things. I have so many new card samples to share with you. I am still trying to figure out that new computer of ours. I will keep working on it and hopefully this will be the last time I tease you about my sharing new stamping ideas. I made a couple of really cute cards for my shows to make. The theme was Valentines, but the card design could be used for any holiday. I will really try to get them up this weekend. Snow, Snow, Snow

Okay, today is my 4th day to be home from school. It seems we are continually getting more and more snow that makes the roads almost impossible to drive. The superintendent called school off early this morning after having the transportation dept. go out and test the roads with the busses. It was a no go - I mean, when is this going to end??? Now some of you may think this is a pretty sweet deal, but remember we have to make it up sometime this next semester. I'm wondering if I'm taking my spring break early. Well, I'm going to try to get to the school to finish preparations for the new students and finish up some grading that needs to be done at school so that I can post my final grades. The good part of all this is that I have time to do more stamping. I still haven't posted any of my new cards, but will do it later today. Belated Happy New Year!!!

First off, let me say Happy New Year to one and all. I can't believe this month is just about gone. With February just around the corner, my birthday fast approaches. As I get older, I can only think about how blessed I've been throughout my life. I really have to thank God for being there for me, leading me even when I have faltered and picking me back up and getting me on track again. My life as been abundant with friends and family that support me in all my endeavors.
Well, it might seem that I have been missing in action. Actually that has been the truth to a certain degree. School started back up and I was getting ready to give finals and preparing for the new semester. We also got a new computer and I'm still trying to figure out how to use it. Just when I was getting used to using our other computer, I now have to learn all over again on the new one. I will work on it tomorrow since we will be having our 3rd snow day off from school. I hope to download several new card ideas and new products used from The Angel Company. I do have some exciting news. I have officially been promoted to a Team Leader with the company. I am so excited to take the next step with the company and form my team. My official team name will be Creative LadyBug Stampers. This is obviously the same as my blog. I have always liked the little bug. It was the mascot of my college sorority and I have collected them ever since. I have 5 members on my team. All are wonderful ladies and I look forward to stamping with them in the future. I am continually looking for new "angels" to join my new team and hope that you might consider it. Christmas Card Swap

Okay, so I finally finished the 45 invitation cards I made for my friend in New Mexico. I thought I'd never get them done, but they go postal tomorrow. I think they turned out very nice. I sure hope she likes them. Today I was able to make two Christmas cards. I used a new set of stamps from TAC and lots of glitter. I will have to get back to you on the stamp number, but you can find it on my webpage/store at The Angel Company. Remember that the last day for double stamps is coming the end of November. To make these cards I used our Merry paper and had lots of fun getting covered in glitter. These will be going postal tomorrow for a new Yahoo group I am a member of. You get tagged and then send cards out to each other. I have been receiving several beautiful cards and now its my turn to get some sent out. Hope you enjoy my work. Until next time........

Sympathy Card

For this card I used the TAC stamp set called rosesentiments T-302 that sells for $15.95 (set of 10 stamps). I got this set when I signed up to be an Angel. I hadn't really used it until recently. You can't tell, but I used liquid applique on the rose and glittered the leaves. I used jelly roll pens for the rose buds. The inside saying says, "You are in my thoughts and prayers". This is one of the stamps in the set. This set is on the farewell list in case you are thinking it would be a great set to add to your collection. I like the set because it has a variety of sentiments like sympathy, congrats, birthday, and thank you. This card is for a friend who recently lost a loved one. We belong to a womens organization who's flower is the yellow rose. I thought this stamp set was perfect for making a sympathy card. It's always hard to think about losing someone special. A handmade card is always a wonderful way to show how much you care.

Thanksgiving Cards

I love this new stamp set that can be found in our Fall Supplement. It is called countyourblessings T-2790 and it sells for $15.95 (set of 9). I did several FunShops last month using this set. The card on the left is one of my samples for my FunShops. The other two cards I came up with this weekend and just had fun making them. I used our fabulous TAC paper soarwithitcollection called Amelia V-838 (sells for $6.95. This paper set is 12x12 and includes one sheet of each of the 5 designs and one sheet of die-cut cardstock tags and embellishments. We carry coordinating hardware, cardstock and ribbon to each of our soarwithitcollections. I love the Bazzil flowers that we carry. They are called Assorted Bitty Blossoms. The flowers are 1 1/2" flowers in an assortment of colors. You will receive approximately 100 pieces and they sell for $9.50. I hope you have the opportunity to count all of your blessings for this year and enjoy the company of family and friends as you enjoy this wonderful holiday. I will be spending Thanksgiving at home with my husband, son and animals. It will be a nice, quiet and enjoyable time!!! This has always been one of my favorite holidays!!! The Angel Company is preparing to unveil the new catalog in January. We just got our Decmeber newsletter with a sneak peak of some of the new stamp. I'm sure you'll love them as much as I do. I can't wait to see the new catty. This is exciting news, however that means we must say farewell to some of our favorites to make room for the new stamp sets. The last day stamps can be ordered from the current catalog is December 28th, 2007. If you see a stamp set that was on your wish list, I wouldn't wait long to get your order in. Christmas Ornament Invitation

I have created this card as an invitation for my friend Barb in New Mexico. I used one of the new stamp sets in the TAC Fall Supplement called wintertags (T-2799/set of 8 stamps for $19.95). I loved this set the minute I set eyes on it. The patterned paper is called Merry Wishes and sells for $19.95. Right now, we are running a special until the end of November where you can get the November kit Merry Wishes soarwithitcollection and the merry words stamp set, (set of 34) that has a retail value of $19.95, for just $29.95. Bouncing Brayer Technique

I recently had a visit by a manager for The Angel Company. Her name is Ginger. She and I met at 2 years ago at seminar. You know how you meet some people and you just know that your going to be friends for a lifetime, well, that is how I felt about meeting Ginger. She recently came through my town and I was fortunate enough to get to spend some time with her. We sat down together to stamp and Ginger shared some fun techniques with me. These techniques are nothing new, but they were new to me. I love doing the Bouncing Brayer Technique. I hadn't used my brayer before and now I love to use it. I have made cards using the old truck and the gerbera daisy stamps. The cards came out beautifully and are quite simple to make. Simply ink up your brayer with your ink pad. Cut sheets of glossy cardstock into 5 1/4" x 4" sheets. Brayer the ink evenly on the paper and let dry a few minutes. Next, stamp the stamp in the center of the card and embellish as you like. It's that simple. Another use for your brayer is to put rubber bands around the roller and ink up before rolling on your paper. This leaves a fun, squiggly line design all over the paper. Cool technique to try if you haven't already. Well, I'd better run. Tomorrow I will place card samples on this sight. I first have to figure out how to do this. I'm a bit computer challenged, but I will get the hang of this blogging stuff.

I am so excited to start a blog. Not sure what I'm doing yet, but am hoping to get the hang of it.
